Exciting News from Peten, Guatemala!
Mobile Library
As we approach the launch of our Mobile Library project in May of 2025, we’re thrilled to share the progress with you! One of our old school buses is undergoing a remarkable transformation into a vibrant traveling library. This initiative aims to boost literacy, reading skills, and provide children with inspiring environmental lessons.
The bus transformation
Our team is working tirelessly to convert the first of the Jungle School buses into a dynamic learning space. The custom build-out features Itza Wood, new paint, flooring, electricity, and mechanical upgrades. This project is nearing completion, and we can’t wait to get on the road and reaching the children who most need these resources! It has been our aim at Hearts in Action to always be good stewards of the resources and opportunities entrusted to us. This new use of the bus is an exciting example of faithful and diligent use of what God has given us.
The need to READ
Guatemala’s educational system has faced decades of underfunding and neglect, resulting in significant challenges for rural schools. Our mobile library seeks to bridge this gap by providing access to quality education, promoting literacy, and fostering community engagement.
